Yes! The Franklin Thermocycler is compatible with standard "low profile" 0.1 mL PCR tubes. Unfortunately, 0.2 mL tubes are not compatible with the Franklin. Additionally, standard PCR optical tape alone may not adequately prevent sample evaporation. We suggest adding at least 25 uL of mineral oil on top of your sample before sealing with optical tape.
However, we do highly recommend using Biomeme's Empty Go-Strips and void filling caps, as they are specially designed for use with our device. If you run into issues using tubes other than Biomeme's Go-Strips, please contact support@biomeme.com for troubleshooting tips.
