Did you start your run and return to your thermocycler later in the day only to realize it’s now off? Maybe your app crashed or your phone died, and you’re wondering what happened to your test results?
ALERT: DO NOT PUSH THE "Stop" BUTTON IN THE APP!
This is not a pause button. This is an irreversible action that will result in:
1. Loss of all samples because the run cannot be resumed, and the samples cannot be reused.
2. Loss of any run data that has not successfully synced from the device to the app.
DO NOT TURN THE THERMOCYCLER OFF WHILE IT IS IN THE MIDDLE OF A RUN.
This will also result in a loss of all samples because the run cannot be resumed, and the samples cannot be reused.
Important things to know:
1. Once a run is started, the thermocycler will not turn off until the run is complete, even if the Biomeme Go app crashes or the smartphone loses power.
2. The thermocycler will turn off once the run is completed, and will hold any unsynced data until the smartphone initiating the test is reconnected.
3. Test results (run data) can only be synced/recovered to the smartphone that initiated the run.
4. Another device will be able to start the run on the same thermocycler, however, this will delete any data from a previous run that has not synced.
5. Amber light on the thermocycler indicates the test is currently running.
6. When the thermocycler is reattaching to the Biomeme Go app, the light on the thermocycler will flash white for 30 seconds to 1 minute. The run will continue while this occurs. After successful reattachment, the lights on the thermocycler will revert to amber to indicate the test is still running.
Before you start troubleshooting, check to make sure your Bluetooth is turned on for your smartphone.

A: Thermocycler ON, App OPEN
When the thermocycler disconnects from the Biomeme Go app, you should see a pop-up screen that reads: "Connect via BLE". |

Note: If your test is currently running, the LED on the front of your thermocycler will be blinking amber. If your test has been completed, the LED will be blinking blue.
B: Thermocycler ON, App CLOSED
- Make sure to fully close the Biomeme Go app, if it is not already.
- Relaunch the app on the same smartphone used to initiate that run.
- Make sure the Bluetooth on the thermocycler is on. If it is, there will be a small blue light blinking next to the Bluetooth button.
- Select Incomplete Runs, and then select the run listed.
- Press the Scan button in the app and select your thermocycler.
- Wait 30 seconds to 1 minute for the reattachment to occur. During this time, the strip LED on the thermocycler will blink white, and the app will start to update.
Note: If your test is currently running, the LED on the front of your thermocycler will be blinking amber. If your test has been completed, the LED will be blinking blue.
C: Thermocycler OFF, App OPEN
Note: This assumes your test was completed before the thermocycler powered off. It is usually not possible to reattach and recover the run data if the thermocycler shuts off during the run. Please always ensure your device has at least 20% battery power before starting your run.
- Press the Power button on top of your Franklin™ thermocycler to turn it back ON. If your thermocycler doesn’t turn back on, make sure it’s connected to a power source as your battery may have died.
- Press the Recovery button on top of your thermocycler.
- The thermocycler will quickly blink blue, white, red, then green indicating it has successfully recovered the previously completed or failed run.
- Press the Bluetooth button on top of your thermocycler.
- From the app’s home screen, tap Incomplete Runs.
- Select your test from the list of incomplete runs.
- Press Scan in the Biomeme Go app.
- Select your thermocycler.
- Please wait while your run data is transferred. This may take 30 seconds to 1 minute for the reattachment to occur. During this time, the strip LED on the thermocycler will blink white, and the app will start to update.
D: Thermocycler OFF, App CLOSED
Note: This assumes your test was completed before the thermocycler powered off. It is usually not possible to reattach and recover the run data if the thermocycler shuts off during the run. Please always ensure your device has at least 20% battery power before starting your run.

- Please wait while your run data is transferred. This may take 30 seconds to 1 minute for the reattachment to occur. During this time, the strip LED on the thermocycler will blink white, and the app will start to update.
Common Scenarios:
“My test has been running for a while but the number of cycles isn’t decreasing on the app. What should I do?"
This means that the Bluetooth connection between the device and the app has been interrupted. DO NOT press Stop Run. Follow the steps in Scenario A.
“My run has completed and I’ve pressed a bunch of buttons. I’m feeling flustered, confused, and frustrated; what should I do?”
- Turn off the thermocycler and close the Biomeme Go app.
- Follow the steps described in Scenario D.
“My Biomeme Go app is returning a WRONG THERMOCYCLER error.”
- Turn off the thermocycler and close the Biomeme Go app.
- Follow the steps described in Scenario D.
