How should I interpret a result if my target amplifies but the IPC does not?

In our duplex and triplex assays containing an internal positive control (IPC), the IPC is added at a very low concentration to have minimal interference with the reaction and to react with small amounts of inhibitors. A negative IPC result does not invalidate a positive result for your targets.
